Job Description:

Sky Sight Inc. is looking for a talented architectural technologist to assist in the firm's building design, scan-to-BIM/CAD, 3D rendering, building and asset inspections, surveying, remote sensing, and other operations. As a technologist at the firm, you will conduct on-site visits to capture data of buildings, structures, and sites using advanced RPAS and 3D LiDAR Scanners. You will assist in processing this data to create project specific deliverables for various AEC professionals. You will also support the firm's architectural designers with the preparation of 3D Revit models and 2D AutoCAD drawings.

Requirements:

  1. Accredited Diploma (or Degree) in Architecture, Engineering, or Construction Technology with 1-3 years industry experience.
  2. Expert knowledge of Autodesk AEC Collection including Recap, Revit, and AutoCAD.
  3. Experience creating detailed Architectural, MEP, and Structural Building Information Models (BIMs) and preparation of complete Building Permit Drawings (Floor Plans, Elevations, Sectionals, Roof Plans, Site Plans) for Industrial, Commercial, Multi-Residential, and/or Residential projects.
  4. Experience creating photorealistic 3D Architectural Renderings (in Lumion, Enscape, and/or other softwares).
  5. Advanced knowledge of the Ontario Building Code (OBC).
  6. Highly proficient with Microsoft Office 365, as well as, File Management and Project Management tools.
  7. Excellent communication skills, as well as, client management and project management experience.
  8. Experienced in preparing detailed professional reports.
  9. Experience conducting on-site visits for development projects to conduct measurements, inspections, and other tasks.
  10. Class G Ontario Driver Licence.
  11. Willingness to work flexible hours (including evenings and weekends, if required).
  12. Occasional use of personal vehicle for business purposes, as well as occasional travel out of province (with Canada), may be required.

Assets:

  1. Experience working with LiDAR point clouds and 3D photogrammetry models (reality capture) of buildings and structures (including familiarity with various file types and standard practices).
  2. Experience in with GNSS and Aerial Surveying and Mapping methodologies and practices, including Real-Time Kinematic (RTK) and Ground Control Points (GCPs).
  3. Transport Canada Advanced Operations Certificate and prior experience operating DJI Enterprise Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems (RPAS) with LiDAR and/or thermal payloads, in controlled airspace (including knowledge on how to file for flight authorization with NavCanada).
  4. On-site experience conducting (and knowledge on how to use specialized equipment for) 3D LiDAR Scanning of interior and exterior of buildings and GNSS Land Surveying (including the use of softwares such as Matterport, DroneDeploy, Pix4D, and AutoDesk Civil3D).
  5. Current member of Association Of Architectural Technologists Of Ontario (AATO), or Ontario Association of Certified Engineering Technicians and Technologists (OACETT), or equivalent professional association(s).
  6. Knowledge of Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA) International Standards (Office, Industrial, Retail, Mixed-Use, and Multi-Unit).
  7. Experience with Industrial, Commercial, Multi-Residential, and/or Residential Mechanical, Electrical, and/or Structural systems design.
  8. Experience with Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom.

Compensation & Benefits:

  1. Salary Range: $50,000 (starting) to $60,000 per year (full-time).
