The historic terminal building at Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport required accurate documentation of its existing layout and condition. Due to the age and deterioration of the structure, as well as the presence of hazardous materials, site access required coordination with the port authority and adherence to strict safety procedures, including the use of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) during fieldwork.

Our team completed a detailed measurement survey and documentation of the terminal’s interior spaces. Working within the operational airport environment and in coordination with the project engineers, we collected LiDAR data of building to develop accurate as-built floor plans and reflected ceiling plans, along with a photographic record of the building’s existing conditions, to serve as a reference for future design, renovation, and asset management efforts.
