Connor Preston is an Architectural Designer with experience in residential, commercial, retail, hospitality, and interior fit-out projects. At Sky Sight Inc., he contributes to architectural and interior design, design development, BIM production, permit and construction documentation, consultant coordination, municipal submissions, visualization, and site verification.
Connor develops and coordinates detailed architectural drawing and BIM packages using Revit and AutoCAD and works closely with the firm's project teams to translate design concepts and existing-condition information into clear, coordinated technical documentation. His work includes Ontario Building Code review, permit application packages, responses to municipal comments, construction detailing, and integration of structural, mechanical, electrical, civil, and other consultant information.
His role also extends into interior design and technical coordination. Connor contributes to space planning, millwork and casework design, material and finish selection, lighting and fixture coordination, furniture and equipment layouts, and the integration of AV/IT and other specialty requirements within commercial interiors. He also supports 3D visualization and presentation workflows used to communicate design intent to clients and project stakeholders.
Connor works with the firm's reality-capture and geomatics workflows, including terrestrial LiDAR, point clouds, building measurement, Scan-to-BIM, GNSS and topographic site information, and other spatial datasets used to establish accurate existing conditions. These workflows allow design and documentation to develop directly from coordinated building and site information rather than relying solely on conventional field measurement. His familiarity with the Autodesk AEC environment also supports interdisciplinary coordination, model review, and integration of site and building information.
Prior to joining Sky Sight Inc., Connor gained significant experience delivering quick-service restaurant, retail, and commercial projects through design, permitting, construction, and closeout. His project experience includes work for brands such as Starbucks, Burger King, Taco Bell, and Chipotle, as well as larger retail and entertainment environments including Longo's and Cineplex. His previous responsibilities included tenant fit-outs and renovations, construction documentation, consultant coordination, site review, space planning, interior detailing, and material and finish development.
Connor holds an Advanced Diploma in Architectural Technology from Sheridan College and is currently pursuing a Master of Architecture at Boston Architectural College. He also holds a Transport Canada Advanced Drone Operations Certificate, complementing his architectural background with experience in aerial documentation and site-data acquisition.
